Reactive and anxious dogs · an app we are exploring
A day-by-day plan for a reactive dog.
A day-by-day plan for a dog who lunges, barks or panics at dogs, people or traffic, using reward-based desensitisation.
Expect to practise for months, not days.
What it would do
- IntakeYour dog's triggers, the distance at which they notice and react, and your walk times.
- Threshold mapFor each trigger, the distance at which your dog can still take food, logged on every walk.
- Session plansLook at that, engage-disengage, U-turns, pattern games and mat work, each with a 30-second illustrated demo.
- Walk loggerOne tap per trigger with distance and reaction. The plan steps forward or back from your log.
- Decompression daysScheduled by the plan after a hard walk, with a meter for the day's stacked triggers.
- More than one dogMulti-dog households and a log the whole household shares.
- ReportsA report for your vet or behaviourist, and a muzzle-training track.
What it would not do
- If your dog has bitten, start with a vet or a qualified behaviourist. The app tells you how to find one.
- No aversive tools are recommended.
The planned price
A$9.99 a month or A$59.99 a year, with Family Sharing.
The intake, the threshold map and the first three sessions would be free. Nothing is for sale yet, and joining the list costs nothing.
