Privacy Policy

Inzention ("we", "us", "our") operates mobile applications including The System: Daily Quests, Ronin, Valhalla, Xianxia, Crawler, Stuck: ADHD Energy Toolkit, and Thea, along with our other iOS applications and the website www.inzention.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

The short version: what you write inside our apps stays on your device, apart from the name and targets of a habit you create yourself. That text is sent to us so we can build the habits people ask for. We also collect usage analytics, tied to a random identifier created when you install the app. Our apps have no accounts and no logins, so we never learn who you are. We never sell your data. We never use health data for advertising or marketing.

1. Data We Collect

Data you provide

• Email address (if you contact support or join a waitlist)
• A first name or nickname you choose during setup. It is stored on your device and used to personalise what the app says to you. In Ronin, it is also sent to our analytics with the event that records you finishing setup. No other app sends it anywhere.
• Text you submit for AI features (Stuck only, such as thoughts for reframing or tasks for breakdown). This text is sent to Anthropic for processing and is not stored by us after the response is returned.

Health data (Thea only)

Thea includes an optional feature that adapts your daily rituals to your menstrual cycle phase. You can use Thea fully without it.

• Apple Health, reading. If you grant read access, Thea reads menstrual flow records from Apple Health (HealthKit) to determine the start date of your most recent period.
• Apple Health, writing.Thea can also write to Apple Health, and only when you ask it to. If Apple Health is your chosen cycle source and you tap "Started today" or "Ended today" on the Moon screen, Thea asks for write access at that moment and writes a single menstrual flow entry for that day. It writes nothing else, ever. Thea never asks for write access during setup, so if you never tap those buttons you are never asked.
• Manual entry. Instead of Apple Health, you can enter a period start date and average cycle length yourself.
• Where it goes. Your period start date, cycle length and calculated cycle phase are stored on your device, and in Apple Health if you asked Thea to write there. They are never transmitted to our servers and never sent to any third party. Our analytics records nothing about your cycle: not the dates, not the source, not whether you use the feature at all. Thea has an automated test that fails the build if any of that changes.
• What it is used for. Calculating your current cycle phase on your device, so the app can suggest rituals suited to that phase. Nothing else.

Thea is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or predict any medical condition, and it is not a contraceptive or fertility tool. Cycle phase is a rough calculation from a date you or Apple Health supplied.

You can withdraw Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Health → Thea. Deleting the app erases every cycle date it holds, whether it came from Apple Health or you entered it yourself.

Data collected automatically

• Usage analytics via PostHog: screen views, feature usage, app events, the answers you pick during setup, and your subscription status. These events carry no name, email or account, because our apps have no accounts. They are attached to a random identifier created when you install the app, which lasts until you delete it.
• The text of a habit you write yourself. When you create your own quest, keiko, deed, trial, feat or ritual, its name, description and targets are sent to PostHog so we can build the habits people ask for. Journal entries, reflections, intentions, check-ins and anything you write inside a ritual are never sent.
• Approximate location, in Ronin, Valhalla, Xianxia and Crawler. PostHog derives a country and region from the IP address the request arrives on. It is not GPS, and no app asks for location permission. The System and Thea switch this off.
• Subscription status via RevenueCat (purchase validation, entitlement checks). RevenueCat processes data as described in their privacy policy.
• Standard device information (device model, OS version, app version) collected by Apple as part of App Store distribution.

Notifications

Our apps can send reminder notifications if you allow them. These are scheduled on your device. We do not operate a push server and we do not collect a push token. Turn them off in iOS Settings or in the app's settings at any time.

Data stored on your device

Your app content is stored locally on your device. This includes quests, progress and streaks, rituals and intentions, journal and reflection entries, check-ins, your chosen focus areas, and any cycle dates described above. We cannot read any of it. The exceptions are the ones named above: the analytics events, and the text of a habit you write yourself.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain our apps
• To process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions
• To understand how our apps are used and improve them
• To build the habits people ask for, from the text of habits users write themselves
• To respond to support requests

3. What We Never Do With Health Data

Data gathered in a health or fitness context, including anything read from Apple Health, is never used or disclosed for any of the following:

• Advertising or marketing, ours or anyone else's
• Use-based data mining or profiling
• Sale, rent, or trade to any party, for any purpose
• Sharing with data brokers or analytics providers
• Any purpose other than providing the cycle attunement feature you turned on

We do not store health data in iCloud or any other cloud service, and we do not use it for health research. If you have iPhone backups enabled, your own device backup includes app data, as it does for every app on your phone. That backup is yours and we have no access to it.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

No health data is shared with any service in this table. Your cycle data moves between Thea and Apple Health on your own device, and nowhere else. If you have Apple Health iCloud sync turned on, Apple syncs it under your own settings and your own agreement with Apple.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the third-party services listed above, and only to the extent necessary to operate our apps.

6. Data Retention

App data stored on your device persists until you delete the app. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. If you contact us via email, we retain that correspondence for up to 24 months. We hold no copy of your health data, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete.

7. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of analytics (contact us to request this)
• Withdraw Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Health
• Delete all local app data by uninstalling the app

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Because most data is stored locally on your device, the attack surface is minimal. No data is transmitted without encryption.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
